CKPC and Wenzhi College of Xi’an Jiaotong University have been co-organizing summer exchange program for 4 years. From 24 to 30 June 2019, Resident Fellow Dr. Hsu Heng Chia led 10 CKPC students to Xi’an for a 7-day summer exchange program. At welcome dinner, the delegation members discussed the mission of college education and the characteristics of college life. Over the following days, with the warm hospitality of the students of Wenzhi College, our students visited the campus of Xi’an Jiaotong University to experience the strong study atmosphere; attended the course of Chinese Zither and Chinese Traditional Culture to learn the characteristics of Chinese traditional music and the melody of ancient music; explored many places in Xi’an such as Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum, Museum of Qinqiang Opera, Shaanxi Museum, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, Daci’en Temple and Fortifications of Xi’an to learn the history and culture of ancient China. The outcomes of this exchange program are remarkable. Our students have obtained a thorough understanding about Chinese history, heritage, and architecture before the Han and Tang Dynasty. The friendship between CKPC and Wenzhi College is also greatly strengthened.
