The “2025 Famine 10-Hour – Water Resource Special” event, jointly organized by the Me to We Outdoor Leadership Adventure Program Team and World Vision Macau, was successfully held on March 15, 2025. This charity event saw the enthusiastic participation of 50 students, who experienced 10 hours of hunger firsthand to better understand the severity of the global water resource shortage. They actively engaged in workshops, supported charity sales, and successfully completed a three-hour outdoor “Famine Hike,” demonstrating their commitment to this meaningful camp.

The event was divided into a morning indoor workshop session and an afternoon outdoor hiking challenge in Coloane, with the overarching theme of “Water Resource Scarcity.” The morning workshops featured diverse and engaging activities, combined with charity sale booths, helped students gain deeper insights into the pressing issue of global water shortages while contributing to a meaningful cause. In the afternoon, participants embarked on a “Famine Hike”. They were divided into groups for a role-playing activity, taking on the personas of scientists from the year 2125 who traveled through a time tunnel to uncover the mysteries behind water scarcity.

The core mission of the “Famine 10-Hour” event is to raise public awareness about global hunger and water shortages. We encourage them to reflect on the plight of those suffering from hunger and water scarcity and take meaningful actions to help.

Chao Kuang Piu College hopes that through this event, participants can deeply empathize with the struggles faced by refugees, appreciate their own privileged living conditions, and reflect on their roles and responsibilities in society. We urge every student to contribute to society through concrete actions, fostering a sense of civic responsibility and working towards a more just and sustainable future.
