Chao Kuang Piu College Me to We Leadership Adventure Program (MTW) held the Macao Association of Rope’s Rope Skills Level 1 and Level 2 Instructor Qualification Examinations on 16th February and 2nd March respectively. Among them, three students successfully passed the Level 1 Instructor qualification and two students obtained the Level 2 Instructor qualification. The first real-life rescue simulation was conducted for the first time in the public space of Chao Kuang Piu College, which attracted students to stop by and observe.
The certification course is based on single rope technique. The Level 1 Instructor Course consists of 30 hours of high intensity training, including knot handling, high altitude rescue, and simulation teaching. The whole process of teaching and assessment was completed in CKPC. The Level 2 Instructor Certification involves more complex teamwork rescues and the ability to address more complex rescue situations and teach higher level ropes courses. During the assessment, students are required to complete difficult operations such as high-altitude rope building and casualty transfer. The course not only improves the teamwork ability of the members, but also enhances their personal knowledge, and provides more safety assurance for MTW’s future activities.
Chao Kuang Piu College Me to We Leadership Adventure Program continues to focus on cultivating students’ outdoor leadership skills, with the aim of training a more professional and secured team to develop more outdoor activities for the College, and to allow students to participate in more outdoor experiential activities. In addition to developing skills, the MTW program also focuses on the concept of ‘learning transfer’, whereby students are guided to transfer what they have experienced or learnt to their daily lives through the transfer of learning in each activity, so that they can better handle the challenges of life.
