Me to We Leadership Adventure Program of Chao Kuang Piu College successfully held a two-day hiking and camping event in Coloane, Macau from April 5 to April 6, 2025, covering a total distance of approximately 10 kilometers. The 10 participating students learned practical skills such as hiking techniques, Leave No Trace environmental principles, campsite setup, and stove usage. Although they encountered light rain during the event, everyone remained enthusiastic and ultimately reaped rich rewards.
On the first day of the event, after the 10 participating students finalized their food plan through group discussions and completed the necessary shopping, they set off from Seac Pai Van Park. They hiked through an ecological park and reached the Coloane hiking trail. Despite facing light rain and muddy paths, everyone encouraged one another and worked together, eventually arriving at the campsite smoothly. Subsequently, at the campsite, the students learned techniques for setting up tents and using stoves, and they personally prepared a sumptuous dinner. On the following day, the event included a session on tent packing and maintenance, after which they returned along the hiking trail, enjoying the scenic views along the way, and successfully concluded their journey.
Through this event, the students not only experienced the rich joys of outdoor life but also acquired a variety of practical skills. Although most of the students were participating in hiking for the first time and the event took place in rainy weather, everyone considered the experience uniquely meaningful. During the activity, the students mastered the methods of hiking under complex weather conditions, learned the fundamental skills of tent setup and simple meal preparation, and also fostered a spirit of teamwork and environmental awareness. Participants believed that this event not only left them with unforgettable memories but also ignited a deep love for nature, and they look forward to more opportunities to participate in similar outdoor activities in the future.
