The members of CKPC Me to We took the level one sport climbing certificate course on December 8 and successfully passed the exam to obtain the level one sport climbing certificate. This climbing course allows everyone to experience the close relationship between climbers and belayers, and to understand the connection between people.
In the first half of the course, Miker taught basic climbing skills and emphasized safety matters, so that the students had a preliminary climbing experience using automatic security equipment and had a preliminary understanding of rock climbing. After everyone has challenged at least two routes, everyone began to learn how to ensure the safety of climbers when there is no device that automatically ensures equipment. The members of the first batch of Me To We, as teaching assistants, explained how to use ATC and grigri correctly. In addition, everyone also learned how to check the safety of the ropes and manage the ropes.
After a whole day of learning and practice, everyone took the level one sport climbing certificate test in pairs and all passed the test in the evening. Finally, everyone shared the experience of this course. When climbing, the climber and the belayer closely connected as a whole, the climber must have complete trust in the belayer, and the belayer needs to be responsible for protecting the safety of his companion’s life. In the process of rock climbing, connecting people is not only a climbing rope, but also a trust and a responsibility.
