On the afternoon of March 19, Chao Kuang Piu College students participated in a transformative team-building event at Hac Sa Youth Hostel. Organized under the Me to We Leadership Adventure Program (MTW) and themed “Elevate Collaboration, Embrace Courage,” the event saw students tackle two signature aerial challenges—the Giant’s Ladder and the Confidence Pole—as part of their outdoor education experience.

The Giant’s Ladder, an 8-meter high multi-tiered rope structure, required pairs to coordinate their movements and trust one another by using innovative strategies such as leveraging shoulders as footholds and hands as anchors. In contrast, the Confidence Pole challenged individuals to climb solo along a narrow platform at the same height, pushing them to confront their personal fears of heights. Facilitators explained that these physically demanding obstacles served as symbols for real-life challenges, promoting both teamwork and self-reliance.

Reflecting on the day’s challenges, participants noted significant personal breakthroughs and a strengthening of camaraderie among peers. “At the top of the pole, the feeling of isolation quickly vanished when I heard my friends cheering me on,” one student shared. MTW coordinators reiterated that the experience was designed not only to build physical endurance but also to inspire mental resilience and leadership qualities. In alignment with Macau’s youth development goals, this outdoor education event reaffirms CKPC’s commitment to cultivating adaptable and confident future leaders who can transfer these lessons into everyday life.
