Since 2018, CKPC has been organizing the annual “Student Ambassadors’ College Exploration”, inviting local secondary school students (mainly Form 3 and Form 4 students) to visit the college in small groups for a half-day experience, including accommodation, group activities, student brands, dining hall meals, etc., which is very popular among secondary school students.
Each time the student ambassadors visit, the college sends the alumni of the participating secondary schools to welcome the students, which makes them feel closer to each other. In addition to the introduction of the College System, the college also encouraged them to choose a better learning and living environment while considering their academic disciplines.
The “Student Ambassadors’ College Exploration” has been held for 11 times and over 60 student ambassadors have participated. They have shared their photos and videos of their visits with their classmates back at their secondary schools, which is very helpful in promoting the College System of the University.
This year, the University of Macau celebrated its 40th anniversary, and the visiting student ambassadors and teachers were all given 40th anniversary souvenirs. The following schools visited CKPC this semester:
– Hou Kong Middle School
– Keang Peng School
– Lou Hau High School
– SaintPaul School
– Sheng Kung Hui Choi Kou School
The student ambassadors had a hands-on experience of photo shooting and coffee making at CKPC. They also visited the Infinite Coffee and Pi Studio in CKPC.
This activity enabled the students to learn about the community and peer education in the unique ‘4-in-1’ education of the University of Macau and the real life of the college, and gave them an special experience of university life, so that they could make a better choice of subjects by making early career planning.
Some of the teachers who led the team also agreed with the community and peer education at the University of Macau, saying that with the rapid changes in technology, education should also keep pace with the times and encourage students to participate in more internal and external activities to enhance their personal skills and broaden their social circle, which will help them in their future career development.
